Compression struts:
Absolutely shit on the road
, the ride quality will just go down the toilet due to the high pondage springs you need to run with this set up
.
Adjustable TCAs:

My advice for a road car is to get the geometry right and fit some decent suspension. I would not put compression struts on any road car.

I ran em on my Mk2 Tarmac car and they were awesome, the turn in was very good, and geometry could be set perfect! however, they do go the rod ends dont last forever and they are pretty hard through the steering.

you can run compression struts as well as an anti-roll bar.
over here SUHE motorsport sell a kit (and i did have it fitted to my car when i bought it). you get the struts, a bracket to weld on the floorpan near to the arb mount, and some eyes to weld onto the tca at the bottom. so you run the compression strut effectively underneath the arb.
didn't get a chance to see how good they were as i crashed it into a tree after 10 minutes of owning it. i didn't cut the brackets off the old shell when i scrapped it, so haven't fitted tem to my reshell.
alternatively, you can always run an adjustable blade front arb going forwards as BROM has before.

you can see the compression struts fitted to the tca's here, and see that it is still possible to use the arb

i personally have and would use the compression struts on a road car , and never run silly poundage rates as that just due to inefficiant damping in you need to , but then i do pay good money for dampers !! - and i dont run arb's front or rear , as for how it handles - really crap - really really crap
