Default Mk2 Focus RS purchase issue.

Righto peeps, placed a deposit on one of these last year and still waiting for it.

Anyway since having to wait Mr. Darling has introduced the 2k scrappage insentive and so I questioned my dealer on this deal with my ordered RS.

His answer being

"However, the deal would have to be re-contracted as a scrappage deal, meaning that you would lose the price protection on the deal that we have agreed so you would have to pay the current price which is £780 higher than the original asking price. Also, Ford are asking the dealer to pay £275 + VAT towards the manufacturer's £1000 contribution. The £2000 saving would therefore be eroded by £780 + £316.25 = £1096.25. Your net saving would be £903.75."

Am I wrong in thinking the dealer should absorb the £316.25?

The vehicle I have in mind to scrap is worth between £500.00 to £750.00 tops I would say, thats if I sold it.

Any input welcome...

If Fors are asking the dealer to pay the £275 + VAT, then yes, imo the dealer should pay it, not you.
