Default Painting Brake Drums - Chav or not???

As title, getting my new Cossie brakes fitted to the front, callipers going red.

The drums are needing painted too, if I get them red too will it look naff?

Should I just get them re-done black?

painting your drums is like walking around naked when you've got a tiny cock

try it and see. at the end of the day it is your opinion that counts, do them red, and if you dont like it, do them black

painting drums bright colours just advertises the fact you have a slow/lesser car.

dont agree with that!lot of fast cars dont have disks on the back and in the case of a rs or onion, we dont like the back end following the front if u brake to hard

saying that the drums i had on the rear of my old celica were big fuckers. i still binned them for a supra rear axle and discs though for much improved braking.

Mine are black, although heading for the bin soon

Painting them colours used to be seen as a 'cool' thing to do back in the day, but then so was wearing all-in-one shell suits

I dare ya

Got to be black TBH. And spend some time on the prep work or they will look terrible regardless. Mine had originally been painted in a simple aerosol which was simply flaking off. Rubbed them down properly and spent some time preparing them right before painting them with decent paint.

To give you an idea whether you like the idea or not:

could you paint them with high heat temp paint, as i have some gloss black in the garage, or does it have to be proper caliper paint ?

Any paint will do, drums don't get anywhere near hot enough for high temp paint

so it would be ok to use then. what about using it on calipers ?. I have black and red high heat temp paint so was thinking of redoing the calipers red and the drums black.

Any paint will do, although a better finish will be had by not using aerosols. Mine were enamelled, hence the gloss finish, although the coating should be very hard-wearing.
