Default Sanding alloy wheels

What final wet & dry grit courseness would you use - its a temp repair of some kerbing - but I want to spray it so it looks good - but not expecting a professional job ?

I got some P1000 today - but it still seems coarse.

thanks David

Are you sanding the bare metal? Personally to give it a 'key' I would use 180-400 wet and dry, then 3-4 coats of primer, leave overnight, then rub smooth with some 1200-1500 wet and dry and plenty of water, then a few light coats of paint on top of that!

Don't be tempted to rush it, leave 30mins between coats of paint, and I would leave it overnight between painting and laquering!
