Photobucket - taking the piss?
Just went to add some more pics to my photobucket account and I now can't.
Originally it was free, and then I paid the £5 to upgrade it, and now it tells me I'm nearly 20MB over my limit, and I've got to pay to upgrade again?
Hmmmmmmm..................

20MB and the bandwidth that potentially creates.... = ££££'s
I would have set up something like photobucket for PF peeps to use, but photo uploaders are viral - people find out about them and abuse the service....hence why I haven't.

I could set one up if someone provided the webspace (My website is a similar system to photobucket, only far more advanced. But i've disabled/removed a lot of features such as new user registrations etc so it looks like a website rather than photobucket gallery!)
But then you would have to check every registration attempt against PF username incase it was a non-PF user before accepting the new user etc. A lot of work as Bill says really.

BT Broadband...........
I want to know stuff like how I configure my email address (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@btbroadband.com) etc, and how I use outlook with that address, and how I import hotmail into outlook.

Rich, it looks like their help pages (settings etc) are now login only, for existing customers, but the following may help to configure Outlook:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/uk/bt/login/#link_5
Funnily enough, Hotmail has an import contacts tool, but not an export contacts.... (which I think you want?)
You can receive Hotmail mails into Outlook, but you cannot send Hotmail mails via Outlook, you have to use your ISP account.
Hope that makes sense/helps

does that help you any? Fairly sure ISH uses BY without (too much) hassle, other than them deleting his webspace due to the amount of bandwidth consumed

don't bother using a ftp client to log into your webspace just use explorer.
eg . i use ftp://ish.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk to log into my webspace. i can then just copy and paste files into my webspace

I've used 500 meg bandwidth in the last 8 days with my blueyonder account. I guess thats due to having a 3 meg picture linked from an eBay add!
Ish, at what point do they start getting snotty about bandwidth?

72dpi is all you need if the pic is for screen only, and JPEG compression is rather good for screen images.

Bill, seen as i'm selling a camera I just stuck a picture on exactly as it came off the camera! I know I could optimise it but it would probably defeat the point of showing exactly what it does I guess
It seems enough people are downloading the entire image at any rate
