215/40 17 Trackday Tyres thread (Avon ZZR & TOYO R888).
Hi all, the purpose of this thread is to gauge serious interest in 215/40 17 tyres for those in particualr with 8x17" wheels.
I am aware that at present R888's are available in 205 and 235/40 which is are the limits for these tyres on 8" rims:
205's are stretched
235's are buldging and create rear arch issues
There seems to be 2 courses of action to source a more appropriate tyre size for the Sierra types
1. AVON ZZR
Now these are already listed in 215/40 17, however there are no stocks and Avon do not know when the next batch of this size will be made.
If enough interest is shown in these maybe it will encourage them to produce some sooner rather than later.

2. TOYO R888
I think most on this site will know what these look like so no picture.
When i spoke to Toyo i was told it would cost quite a bit to design and mould a new size, so once again the demand needs to be highlighted to them before any consideration would be made to them committing to a new size.

So..... anyone that would be seriously interested in this size please feel free to make your self known to either manufacturer and let them know direct, or at least on this thread so i can direct them here to see the potential market.
