Default Money no object - best suspension

Money no object, who manufactures the best suspension.

I have a friend spending a fortune on Tein suspension. I thought ohlins would have been the way forward. What make would you go for and why?

There are many Tein models, so depends on which really in terms of comparison and what they will be used for.

What car is it?

I saw the AST units at the autosport show and they looked impressive, to me though it would be either ohlins, dynamics or proflex, purely down to the fact that they are made for my car and can be serviced when needed without fuss.

you will be expecting to pay over 3k for a full car set though.

The thing is, buying a set of adjustable suspension of the shelf has it been tested for your car? And if not do you intend to take it on track and make adjustments for a week and test whether it makes you any faster. And are you going to use it on the road, as if it's 3+ way adjustable with more moving parts etc it's not going to last long on UK roads. And servicing costs are expensive, not to mention the fact that you have to replace in pairs!

Just because it's expensive doesn't make it good. You could invest in an LSD thicker roll bars and springs and have a better set up. Think about it alot of cars are tested at the nurburgring etc and 100's of thousands have been spent testing/developing.

This is how it was explained to me anyway.

Funnily enough my mate has changed his mind and gone for these instead

What do you not like about the ohlins distributor Mark. I know Mike Rainbird has to deal with ohlins in Sweden as the UK deny Esc Cos ohlins exist lol

Correct they also told me there is cheap copy ohlins being sold in Japan and USA so dont buy them and buy our UK supplied Ohlins for the Evo's,
Guess whatwankers supplied me thoseafter slipping up when we had a set go back for repair So my recomedation Is to avoid Aurok at all costs,
There are some other dealers for them so best look for them.

I had a meeting with Graham@Exe-tc i.e the boss what he doesnt know suspension is not worth knowing, and with the changes made to the Evo suspension from Ohlins to Exe-tc fixed all the problems and found 3 seconds a lap,
They are also starting to do suspension for the 911.

You need to take a ride in a car with Exe-tc you would be shocked at the ride/handeling.

Aurok are a bit of a strange family but i have a great relationship with them , i had the 50 mm 3 way Ohlins built that Andy Gallacher ended up with on his Focus ,they seem ok .
I also now have a pattern for 1/2 & 3 way race dampers for the Cosworth range which will be available shortly .

You often get second hand Proflex come available (you will want tarmac spec), speak to Tony Conway 07919 105 298. However, be away that these are normally designed for the Grp A uprights, occasionally you will get a set for standard though....
