real flu is a right fucker. man flu is just feeling shite for a few days.

i've had real fllu twice, it was like i was dying my eyes felt like rough sandpaper, i could harly walk to the loo without my legs wobbling and feeling like collapsing, my back ached like mad. i slept for about 16 - 18 hours of the day for three days. also, dont close all the windows and crank the heating up. DO stay warm but open a window otherwise you'll incubate it and it'll linger on for a few more days.

Proper flu knocks the shit out of you for a few days, not like a cold where you just feel rough.

Flu is where you feel like utter bollox but CAN still make it to work

Man Flu is you cannot make it to work, infact u cannot walk to the bog, or infact u try and get a drink of water and you cant

Food poisoning is like man flu, I spewed for 5 days constant, then was so dehydrated, I drank 5 pints of water and never went to the loo

i had propper flu and was in bed for 4 days

the worst thing was when i started to come down with it, i was in the arse end of wales and had to drive home, that was a killer when you ache like a cunt

I come from a upbringing where you work when on deaths door ie my dad did his milkround with a broken ankle when I was a nipper....so when ever I get a cold or variations of flu I always drag my self into work and pass it on to every one else In the last eight years Ive had one day off sick and that was a fake as I needed to sort sommot out on the cossie

Had the real flu 2 years ago. Couldn't get out of bed for 3 days. was a real struggle to get to the toilet.

Was slipping in and out of sleep constantly. Wife brought up a cup of tea and put it down next to the bed. I took a drink and it was stone cold. I shouted on her and she said she had brought it up hours ago. I thought she had just left the room.

Hard to describe until you've had it really, although once you have, you'll never say you've got the flu again when you are feeling a bit under the weather.
