Focus ST's - worth it?

Focus ST's - worth it?
Thinking about chopping my car in for an ST seeing as prices have dropped to a reasonable level for a 3 year old one.
Anyone on here owned one? I have been out for a short drive in a couple in the past, but wondering what they are like as an every day car? Are they particularly thirsty? I get approx 300 miles to 45 quids worth in my car now, how would they compare to that?
Anything I should look out for when viewing some?

Fantastic car to drive everyday.
I dont worry about parkig it up and it getting nicked etc. handle superb, go quiet nice. and look great.
Fuel wise i cant help you out as our petrol is cheaper anyway.

Im after an ST. Im finding it hard to get the one I want. Im after am ST3 3dr in Sea Grey with smoked headlights. SatNav would be nice aswell.
I will be using it everyday but as I only do 7.5 miles a day, all around town, I expect only 25mpg at best.

lovely car and useable as a daily driver no problem.
easily tuned too.
Sea Grey is nice - but rarer than most so harder to find a good one.
personally I'd go for the ST500 - not a performance special - but all the toys and probably hold money slightly better than run of the mill ones.
Oh and I got one - what a surprise (but not for sale - 300bhp AP brakes etc.)

trevorcossie - sorry to say that they all say 1 off 500 unfortunately.
mine was one of the very first delivered after being on order for 6 months prior to delivery - so would have been in single numbers.
Rich170 - thanks for nice comment - its a full Magnex system - downpipe and sports cat.
only other mods - code red ECU upgrade and large intercooler & the AP 4 pots.
ran 299.4 bhp last year
only use it on weekends - 5000 miles in 18 months.
for the prices 3 year old ones are going for they are a great bargain.
