Focus RS tuners/speacialists - Help.
Hey Guys, im in desperate need of some help with my car, and all in time for the car to be ready wednesday for a trip to the ring.
over the past few days ive had endless issues with the car, with it going horribly flat after 5000rpm, to which i was recemonded to change the MAF sensor, which was changed while a service was carried out.
the car then went into stupid mode and wouldnt rev past 3500rpm and wouldnt drive with anything more than a tickle of the throttle or wouldnt even tick over on its own steam.
we then discovered a vacuum hose was collapsing when trying to have the ngine running, which then seemed to clear the running issue once it was replaced with a ford standard replacement.
but the car still wants to try and tick over at 750rpm which obviously doesnt always work and it repeatedly dies.
once the car is running or you take it for a drive, it goes like stink but after a few moments of a bit of spirited driving it starts to pop and backfire when you give it full throttle, so you have to feather the throttle in and then it gets to 5k again and almost feels like youve hit a wall as it starts to splutter and pop and bank etc.
during the last 24hrs ive found a crack in my manifold so thats been repaired and refitted, and i then snapped a stud in the head while fitting it back up, so ive also now had to strip the whole front of the car down just to access it to retap it etc, so its now all up and running with the symptoms as said above.
im now loosing time and patince with the car and no real time to do anymore on it before we are supposed to go away.
so has anyone got an opening over the next day or 2 to get the car in and fixed in time for the trip.
im borderline desperate now
Cheers.

Sounds like its running lean, I presume you've had it running all good on the same spec though?
I'd check it on a wideband, check boost, fuel pressure, plugs leads all the simple stuff.
I'm guessing theres no codes in the ECU etc?

Ricky, all of that has Bern done, just want to book it in somewhere with a specialist to do it as I now have no time to do it and supposed to be taking it to the ring in 3 days
Karl, not yet, not many tuners are open Saturday evenings or Sundays, hence the post to hope someone spots it and can help

Ginge, the escort has been just over 2 years in the making and still not completed (even in excess of 45k being spent on it)
its not far off but not going to be ready until the tail of summer, FRS daily car will make it (Fingers crossed )

car now ticks over smooth as anything, but it wont rev much past 3k, and it doesnt like anything under load, and thats only at about .5 bar boost
limped the car up to Robs earlier and just as i pulled up it decided to dump a fair amount of water outside Robs office window.
im back up there first thing to progress with the fault finding and diagnostics.
we have no fault codes or errors obvious.
so far tried 2x MAF sensors, Crank sensor, Coilpack, Plugs. im sure there was more but i cant remember now
oh and Ginge, if i fold the rear seats down i can fit 7 wheels in
