used alittle box to house the diodes as i wasnt sure if you could heat shrink them.

the two wires go into the coilpack plug, then just attach a wire from the last diode to the clocks fuck it cant move the pictures
Mine works up to 3.5k then just drops to 0,will try diodes 1st then, nice job btw.

Sounds like the turbo am afraid

Same happend to me last year floored it from 2nd to 3rd heard a noise, thought shite whats that and started to smoke.

Cruised it home, done the usual checks took of air filter no play in shaft. Ended up removing the turbo and found the exhaust blades fbcuked and the shaft broken

this post has so much bollocks on it

what the fuck does Jim mean by it couldn't be a hose as the exhaust gas would still spin the wheel........... so if you removed the boost pipes it would still work ok ????

as for it losing a turbine blade down the exhaust, it wouldn't lose all boost,,,, but it would sound like shit

the actuator rod coming off was the best suggestion by far,,,,,,, shame it wasn't that but the penny could have come off the wastegate!

have a good look tomorrow Kev, check the shaft of the turbo, side to side play is cool to about 1mm, you dont want any in & out play though.

Could have been caused by partial seizure of bearing,we will never no,and so called M8 who took turbo off, never even got a cup of tea,

guzzler when in got there first thing i saw was the impeller had been in contact with compressor housing ,so we new it was game over for turbo from the start

remove hose between turbo and inlet and start engine... turbo will spin

if turbo not spinning with engine, running turbo 100% fooked, no other test worth doing

correct?

Matt t38 not the answer,as standard head and cams, which cause surge when using a t38 so think he is going to buy a brand new t34 from vince, unless some body else comes up a good deal

wrong you nerd
the turbo should spin on idle but some dont i've seen quite a few that dont move on idle, you have to blip the engine to get them to spin, some then keep spinning, others will slowly come to a stop again!

strange for a shaft to bend on a T3, or has the turbine wheel hit the housing & bent it?? get some pics up of the turbo stripped.

Guzzler,it,s a t34 running at 34psi,yes turbine has been in contact with compressor housing, turbo was origonaly a t34 .48 ,but kev then got a second hand .63 housing fitted to it about 18 mths ago,so we dont really know how old the turbo is ,or what abuse it had in it,s previous life
