I'm sorry, but when you can't read the actual text for advertisements, that's nothing more than a joke. I'll admit it doesn't effect me as I can just sign in, but that is not the point, surely?
Totally shocked.

I am just surpirsed they need such an advert which hinders the text, when the exact same advert is on the right hand side. If I read that, I certaintly wouldn't be joining up! I can understand it's a business, but that advert is a complete joke.

If you browse using Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/) and install the plug-in Adblock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865) You will find PF (and any other site) clean, tidy, useable and much faster loading.
It runs completely in the background and you forget how bad browsing was with all the ads!

Benni, it's a clever way to make people register. The number of registered users affects the value of the website along with the way in which they can collect money from advertisers. It also apparently promotes and encourages new people becoming part of the "community".
So it's essential to them that they encourage people to register to increase revenue in any way they can.
