not really a nice situation your in dude but i don't see how facebook fits in, i think if she has gone with an old friend of her's then she would have prob done so without facebook it just may have taken a little while longer.

I found it a source of pain until I stopped all the notification emails.

I will go out on a limb and say your situation is not unique - there will be others that have had a similar experience, but that's not to say I'm not sympathetic - that's a proper shitty thing to happen to anyone.

I do believe however, that it's made contacting people from your past much easier, and because Facebook doesn't have the stigma of a dating site attached to it, it is more socially acceptable place to 'meet people' through it. I'd also go out on my other limb and say that if something like that is going to happen, it will - at the end of the day, you can't control who people speak to, and the same as anything in life, if you don't know something's going on, there's not much you can do to fix or work around it.

I deliberately avoided adding someone from my past to avoid the potential grief of a similar situation to yours, I think I did the right thing, but everybody's different.

Face book provides the platform for people to get in touch and makes it easier to do it with out going to much out your way, the same as friends re united--- if they were a friend there would be nothing to re unite...

I know one guy that left his wife of 14 years for an old high school sweet heart he was going through a rocky patch with the wife and the sweet heart got in touch and made him feel good etc job done end of marriage

Probably because all it takes it one click, and instantly they can have a nose into your private life

To be honest ive never really like networking sites ANYWAY, just not the type of person to make a profile of myself and stick it on the net and check it everyday, ive got bigger fish to fry here But didnt really know(until more recently) that it can cause this much bother.

If you really think about it then i guess its blatantly obvious what can/could happen, and how easily it could be abused.

Thats a shit situation mate

I also find it funny that people that you either hated, never spoke to, or hated you seem to add you now that thats in the past. Fuck that, I always reject those mofos straight away.

No doubt its a source of pain though, particularly where pictures are concerned i find. A picture can tell a thousand words, and therefore a thousand lies!!! Your bird/wife whatever see's a picture, doesn't know the story behind it, bang, you're neck deep in the shit!

HOWEVER, on the flip side, it has allowed me to get in touch with people that, for whatever reason, i lost contact with and would actually like to catch up with and see again, which is the main point of it.

feel for ya fella, , but like its been said if she was going to do it she was going to do it, its just a cunt that was an old sweetheart ,

i use facebook daily , helps me keep a busy life and stay in touch with mates overseas ,

but is it only me who think your exes have there mates passwords aswell

i deleted an ex , and she blatantly admitted to having 3 of our mutual friends account passwords , so she still manages to keep tabs on me ,

so every now and then i throw a curve ball on my page to keep her on her toes pmsl

i find it ok i add only people ive met and know. about a month ago i found a girl from school who was few years above who i had a major crush on and not seen her for 17yrs and were now seeing each other so comes in handy for finding people you not seen friends or dorris's for a longtime. and always good for seeing pics of nights out etc.

though its not good when you are seeing more than one girlie... you need more facebook accounts and spread the friends about a bit.... i have 3 lol. 1 for the week 1 for sunday best and 1 for "hows your father"

I don't think I could put into words how much I fucking hate Facebook!! I'm not on it and I won't sign up EVER but Claire is on it every fucking day from getting out of bed in the morning till going to bed at night!! It absolutely does my head in!! I can't get on the laptop hardly and when I do get on if I get up to go make a cuppa or go to the toilet she'll be straight back on it again and that's me fucked for getting back on!

It's addictive......infact it's worse than addictive and that stupid Mafia Wars bollocks is ridiculous!! When Claire goes back to work full time she has even asked me if i'll bank her money for her.......FFS, yeah righto!!!!

The whole lot of them Facebook, twitter, etc sites are all trouble and need shutting down!!!!!!!!

I'm 29 have been with her since i was 16 I have no idea how to find a girlfriend what do or say or anything as I always put everything into us, also this really hasn't done a lot 4 my confidence! Feel like a complete failure and having some very black thoughts at trying to be with my dad ( he died august last year), but I don't think I could do it as it would hurt my mum to much!

Thats sad Dan, was there other things going on that made her do this? not trying to be nosey just help,

Sites like Face book etc take away personal skills that people should have as they sit addicted to them,

I hope you get it sorted mate,

Mike

long time no see dan, sorry to hear about the situation, always hard to pick yourself up after this sort of thing, but spending time around family and friends and not on your own to think too much is the best way to start, things will look up and start to get better but as with everything it takes time and its not easy but stick with it,

I'm on Facebook, probably more than I should be. Have got in touch with a few people I wish I had never lost contact with. Also had friend requests from people at school who treat me like a right cunt. Normally just ignore them, can't be arsed with forgetful bullshit they come up with.

Depends how you use it really, I mainly keep in touch with mates at home as I work away and obviously the wife. I do need to cut back on my Facebook pool usage, its slowly taking over my life!
