Default Paypal help

Recently sold a wiring loom on ebay and sent with royal mail the item was sent on the 15/04/09 and on the 16/04/09 the buyer emailed me and asked where the item was which i replied it's been posted on the date above. On the 18/04/09 a paypal dispute was put on my account. I contacted the buyer to let him know it was originally sent and scanned and sent a copy of the receipt - i also give paypal what little information i had on the postal service.

I rang the post office and they inform that a claim cannot be put forward until 15 days past the postage date as it could have just been mislaid now on the 24/04/09 paypal have reversed the money back to the buyer.

Where do i go from here?? what if the parcel turns up with him late i'm now £51.00 down and no item how can this be a service???

Thats eBay/paypal for you. Everythings in the buyers favour, regardless of circumstance.

Strikes me its an easy way to get free bits. Scummers buy stuff, have it delivered then claim its never shown. Pretty much instant refund from paypal and the sellers in the shit, with NO help from ebay.

shit mate but its happening all the time.

as per paypal terms and conditions, you have to send item via a online trackable method mate, aslong as you do this paypal will cover you

hence i always use royal mail special delivery, proof of posting dont mean shite mate, you could have posted anything

I agree, Paypal is good when it works, but when it doesnt it can be a nightmare.

Did it definately get lost? Can you not claim back from the royal mail?

The service was 1st class, royal mail won't even look at the claim until after 15 days so that will make it providing they don't use working days 30/04/09.

Spoke to paypal and they said that if it's confirmed by roayoal mail as not posted then they can appeal.

Recorded for everything in future now, cheers for the advice.
