Reckon he'll weave the same magic he did at Sunderland?
As strong a character as they come and potential to be a top top manager. As close as you'll see to a modern day Clough in some ways.
But if he wants to walk, he will walk at any given time. I personally think he should have proved his mettle by sticking it out at Sunderland.

No way is he anywhere near to a comparison with Clough tho.

His methods and mentality are as close as you'll find to Clough. There is no real "Modern Day Clough" of course, but also remember he played under Clough as well, so will know more than most about him these days.
He's a strong character, no doubting that. But as I said, if he feels like walking he will walk. Which could be the only thing holding him back. I'm sure he would have benefited from sticking it out at Sunderland.
