Not when they're facing spending cuts, and not when each one costs the best part of £20,000 to install or replace.

The best theoretical way to deal with speed cameras is to have an organised and synchronised nationwide theoretical boycott, taking the form of theoretical synchronised and systematic culling of every single camera.

For relatively little effort, theoretically, every camera would be disabled in one swift stroke. Theoretically, there is no downside to the end result of this plan. Show me something that says more than 50% of the UK population would support spending all that money to replace them all. There'd be a riot.

Yes, all you need to do is organise it with a few thousand strangers on the internet, without the police finding out, and you are laughing

Only to a point as there is a low of diminishing returns and increased expenditure when erecting more cameras.

Don't some of them take digital pics and send them direct intead of having film in them, so even if you wreked it you'd still get caught? What's worse, getting done for speeding, or damage, or potentially both....
I knew someone a few years back now with a cossie who tried the tyre technique, it did work BTW, made a proper mess of the camera
p.s if you are going to do it, just get a transit van with acetylene torch in the back...

I have seen one that has been shot several times with a shot gun, that made it really aerodynamic

Monitron cameras are digital - they look like small Gatsos but on taller poles. These need to be taken down first.

The burning tyre ones are impressive, but much more impressive are the ones that have exploded from the inside out - thanks to Christian for supplying burnt Gatso porn.

So the 'normal' Gatsos aren't the kind that take the picture and send the details to the copshop straight away?? They require someone to physically come and download their contents??

Cheers,
Grant

Easy to do "necklacing" is the favoured way as it destroys the evidence.
DON'T pour petrol into a tyre though, make some NAPALM by mixing petrol in a bucket with cheap washing up liquid, keep adding the wul until it jelliefies, then just spread this on the inside of the tyre, there heat is intense and will scrap the camera's inside no problem.
If you want to THERMITE is a piece of piss to make, with readily available common ingredients, but I wouldn't like to get caught with it.
A magnetic pulse could be used, if built and would leave no evidence, just walk past zap it job done, just don't have your mobile on you at the time!!

Nearly all stuff is going via fibre optic these days, so when evidence is caught it is received there at the same time as offence.
