Default Completed stereo build

I imagine the majority are more interested in engine and performance issues, however, for me, the focus for the past few months has been on car stereo

Had most of the components already and got the sound to the point where I was really happy with it, so decided to go down the fibreglass enclosure route

Nothing lary and OTT, just a subtle build, trimmed in dark grey alcantara

The main part was finished a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy with the results So, I thought I'd post up a few photos

The area around the boot catch was trimmed up too, which I thought was a nice touch as I didn't know this was being done

And then the headlining, a-pillars and dash cover trimmed to match...

Comments, of course, welcome

I had everything already in terms of equipment, so it's hard to say exactly

The components, amps and first W7 I had about a year ago, with the sub sat in a JL box. Sounded good, but always wanted a more permenant build.

Then the new head unit and sound processor (mounted behind the dash) came at the end of last year

The build was literally the labour costs and materials, plus the cost of the alcantara.

It's an Alpine IVA-D106R head unit, I had an Alpine CDA-9855R before that

Alpine PXA-H100 sound processor

Alpine PDX-2.150 amp

Alpine PDX-1.600 amp

Boston Acounstics SL series component speakers

JL 8W7-3

It's should be going back for some more work soon, to have a custom panel for the inside of the tailgate, so the head unit can be controlled from the rear of the car

I think the front speakers may be changed in the not too distant future too, as I'm liking JL ZR's at the moment. Feel they would compliment the sub a little more too

I don't think I'd have anything else, love the sound and performance of the W7 range

This is the second one I've had though, first one blew the voice coil, so I'm being especially careful to run the replacement in fully before turning it up

It's real alcantara

Car Electronics, who did all the work, ordered it for me and sorted it all

Worked out at just over £60 a meter I think, which isn't bad at all for the genuine gold stamped alcantara

cool, that what i thought it was, as cheap stuff is hard to work due to its limited stretch (being backed) where as the proper stuff isnt, and is much more flexible.

doing my dash in black alcantara.
