righty i live in watford and work in luton/dunstable it takes me 25 mins from watford going up the m1 as every ones comming down the m1. allways busy traffic and the same going home as all traffic is going north .just a option girl but no dunstable luton caddington very well let me no if you need advise ;0)

MK is a bit of a pooh hole really, nice in the centre and in some areas but quite a few grim areas, just because the buildings are modern, dont be fooled plenty good old british scum there.
Bedford would be a better option if you are working in Luton.
You can go down the A6 if the M1 is shit and up the A6 to Wellyburger
In fact, buy my cottage, then I can move to the Lake District

Im in northampton which is just up the a5
MK is a pretty nice place overall. Prolly cos its so new. And as said above the centre kick-ass for shopping (and laughing at the security guards on their segways!) However, there are some very rough areas in the burbs of MK! Not as bad a wellingborough tho, proper dive! lol
see you mentioned hanslope earlier. that is a lovely little place.

Maria - Bedford J13 M1 - M. Keynes J14 M1 and Northampton J15 M1 all within 20 mins from Wellingborough or Towcester. I live 5 Mins from Towcester..... M1 to Luton easy half hour now motorway is sorted and if no incidents obviously ...

Well i have my meeting with the managers this afternoon to find out more about the branch i might be moving to, and im pretty sure i have to accept the job there and then if im interested!!

I have recently moved back to Milton Keynes area after 4 years in Coventry.
As I walked though the city center today to get to my office I was thinking to myself how glad I was to come back.
I'm pretty sure this thread will turn into one full of jokes about Milton Keynes, but if you've ever been here you'll know its actually a really nice place to live.

Hi Maria, I'd say getting from MK to jct 10 for Luton will take you 20 mins but it depends where in Luton you'll be working. I live just the other side of the M1 at junction 11 and work in Hitchin. If I follow the sat nav for the most direct route to work (which is through Luton) it takes me 45 minutes to do the 15 mile journey. Avoiding Luton and going through the lanes take me 30 mins.
Just something you may need to consider as I've always found Luton to be pretty bad for traffic.

Well.... looks like i am definitely moving to milton keynes!!!
I accepted the offer this afternoon!
The branch ill be based from is: Newey & Eyre Ltd. Kingsway Industrial Estate Luton LU1 1LP.
but ill only actually be in the branch one morning a week and then out on the road for the rest of the time!!!
So... if anyone knows of any pads going in MK let me know!

For the MK people... is the nightclub Flamingos still in existance?? Used to live just outside Bedford and come through for the Under 18 disco nights, they were good fun, MEGA smokey inside but good laugh.
I haven't been to MK for a while, but one of my friends from Bedford hasn't long moved to Cranfield and I'm due a visit... so will probably take a wee tour around MK for old times sake, the pyramid thing (Plaza?), shopping centre and another place or two.
