you really learn after you passed your test! seen those trucks about they look nice, not a massive fan of foden but that 1 looks well
wait till you have to blindside it on to a site where gatehole 3ft bigger than wagon and its on a bank so you have to avoid scraping belly of trailer
not putting you off am i

Tidy looking yoke mate, good luck with your test.
It's something I always wanted to do as a lad as I used to go out with my old man in the summer holidays, was great fun.

absolute premium motoring that
out of interest as ive always wondered what it takes to do this kind of job and get the licence, is there much demand for hgv drivers at the current moment? and how much work do you need to do to be able to get the licence for one? does it cost much to do and get lessons on them?

Aye served my time on Foden's .. Shame they no longer exist .. Even worse seen as though they Invented the Wagon .. What CAT engine are you running?? C15?? I was working for Finning CAT and sometimes have to tune them for emmisions.
I've seen older 3406's strip the bell housing bolts clean off in Foden's .... to much torque for the eATON range change ..
Volvo Hold the record for Power ATM ... 700hp from the 16Ltr straight 6 unit.
Need to get the Cat 2 before you can get Cat 1 .. never use to be like that .. I have Cat 2 ;~

nice.
it must've had a hard life to warrant an engine and box rebuild after 4 years though
we used to only run fodens but our stuff is older the "newest" is on a Y. the new prideof the fleet is an 06 daf though since they stopped making them heres some of the fleet through the years.

its a way of life with 'em mate. you cant beat the roar of the rolls 375 or the purr of the cummins either. the new ones are piss easy to drive, you have to work the older ones. thats what i love about driving them. new ones bore me a little. dont get me wrong i like the light clutches and the power is nice but its just like driving a car.

Oh well maybe a C15 then??
The Eagle 800's are fun to work on ...
Best Wagon I recon are Scania's .. 164 580's are the mutt's nutt's ...
Still have a soft spot for the older 400 Fodens with the Fiberglass cab .. Alpha unit's where probably the best they made ...
