Default what air filter/induction kit for a st170 ?

should be picking the car up at the weekend so ben looking for a K n N or similar but cant find much choice ?

what filter do you use on yours ?

The best gains to be had on a focus are with a panel filter, induction kits suffer with a lot of heat soak as the filter sits quite close to the engine.

If you want some noise then remove the resonator box off the side of the air box

yeah , im after a bit of noise really . whats the resonator box??

do you still run a the air box but remove the "res" box ?

If you look at the air box, to the side of it there is another plastic box, about half the size of the air box.

Pull the airbox up out of its rubber mounts (it might be stiff but it will come out) and then just pull the plastic box off the side of the air box!!

This will leave another hole in the side of the airbox which will make it sound nice and throaty

i had k+n pannel in mine it knocked off 5 seconds in top gear from 70-90 mph so it must have worked.
