Default Recorded delivery

I'm having a bit of trouble with another member on here. He was sending me some cash for a purchase from myself. After a week with no money I sent him a pm saying what was going on etc.

He said he'll post money to me asap. I have recieved nothing at all, he say's the post office say it has been delivered and signed for at my address. I know it hasn't as my misses is home looking after our 12week daughter and she has not signed for a thing.

Now I don't trust him to be honest after reading a post from another member about being ripped off by him. All he say's is the post office say it's been delivered and what am I going to do about it.

But it's not my problem if I haven't recieved it? is it?

He should have the tracking number, if he gives you that, you can check yourself on the Royal Mail website.

this one time (not at band camp) the postie signed for a package and left it in the garden
when the parcel hadn't turned up for a few days i rang amazon and they chased the post office up
had a signature and would send me an email
the email duely arrived and it wasn't anyone's signature, they'd just written the surname
needless to say i mailed back to say "it's not my dad's as he was in india, it's not my mums and she was at work, it's not my brothers as he's at uni, and it's not mine as i was also at work"

they sent another package out and then we found the one they originally sent, in the back garden, after several days worth of rain

so even if he says he's got a pod and all sorts, ask the post office to send you a copy of the signature to see who's it is, lots of places now ask for the first initial and surname of the signee to make sure the sitnagure matches who's signed for it

If there was no-one in the Posty may have left it at the nearest Post Office and they would have signed for it.
He should have left a card for you.

I had a missed package delivery from Australia and the sender found out from that end that it was at my local office.

if he gives you the tracking number then on the royal mail web site they scan and upload the POD after 72 hours of delivery so you can look for yourself who signed for it.

If he sent cash then postie might have signed for it and had it away himself...

don't forget, you can send someone a blank envelope recorded delivery and claim it was a 10grand gold wristwatch. you'll still have a tracking number as "proof"

But the said envelope would be delivered regardless of what is in it!

We had our posty deliver a registered delivery signed it himself and posted the fucker through the door

exactly, and you try proving the envelope you received and signed for was empty in the first place with the sender sending nothing...

1. I'm sure you're only meant to send cash via Special delivery.

2. You need the tracking number and you can go on the website and see a scan of the signature.

This happened with a parcel someone sent me, and a neighbour signed for it and kept hold of it. It was only when I checked the scan that I made the signature out and recognised the surname. God knows what I would have done if I could recognise it.

At the end of the day signed for is exactly that, signed for at the other end NOT gauraunteed delivery.

That checks out ok. If you phone customer services they'll tell you the surname entered into the machine, just incase it's a neighbour who's taken it in.

The thing with recordeds are they are only logged at collection and delivery and nowhere else inbetween. They go through the normal mail sorting process unlike Special Delivery which is done seperately and logged at every movement.
If a postie were to steal a recorded item it is very unlikely they'd sign for it, they'd just take it.

You need to phone your local sorting office and they will ask the posty what he done with it.

Hope you have an honest posty and neighbours !

im guessing with that signature not going to get it back.unless a 2 year old signed for it? or a dog with a pen in its mouth.
in fact, knowing the royal mail i bet the postys robbed it and scammed delivery on his own machine.
was it much money involved?

When I'm on rural deliveries I do it all the time, the customers almost expect it. You've just gotta be careful because it's instant dismissal if you're caught.
