had a really good weekend but I have to say like steve b the stand marking out was a joke we booked 12 spaces and could only fit 6 cars on the stand the middlesex stand opposite ours had IIRC 7 cars on and had space for 50!!!

was good to catch up with some friends tho, dave esc cos, maria and buffy to name a few..

Everyone is entitled to an opinion - but i find it hard understand why central day was 'not so good' It was fantastic weather, first big RS day of the year and chance to meet up with people i've not seen since national day

I think it is often overlooked how hard the people worked to put that day on - there's not much they can do that the market for spares has changed i feel

WELL DONE CENTRAL GROUP thanks for an excellent day

EXACTLY..

I worked my ass off with the likes of Steg, Andy and Lynne, Daz, Gareth, Jackie, Mike Birch, Alan Lloyd and so on for 5 years and every year someone had somet bad to say like the rain or the toilets or the strip action - all of which is out of our control.

From memory this is like the 7th year its been on so it must be shit!

YET....

Its the first show of the year (apart from the Beds track day 1 year)
It takes a shit load of CASH ( that we never had initially )
and support from the RSOC ( which we never had initially )
and a committed bunch of people (which was about 10-15 initially) to pull off a day like this.

Its a good day and if you think you and your group can do better have a try!!!!
See how far you get.....

Was as good as the last time i went ,,
But and i must say ,,, when local rsoc groups cant get enough stand space then its a bad call. as we are the majority of the visitors.
Then some of the rsoc groups let shit like Vw`s,picaso`s and other shopping trollys on there stands , scruffy old cars and the like. Some of the groups you couldnt even name as they had no banners .
Not centrals fault the state of the group stands , but that of the local group committees . wheres the pride gone , its just an excuse to park inside these days.

I enjoyed the show on the whole , just this one point was niggling me

Had an excellent day some really impressive fords, highlight for me was the mk3 capri with a 5.8 supercharged v8 run 10.4@141mph with not much traction and full interior and was driven there and back, later watched it on the rollers and it made 769bhp,mad!

Fully agreed with the rest of your thoughts. Well done Central RSOC for a very good day, spent all of it chatting and catching up with EVERYONE!

Nope, that's Si B's Evo new toy!

Black one is sat next to it in the garage. They keep each other company. Just got to sort a similar private plate for it.

Thanks Pete, they may be a tad familiar to you! Shame you can't remember which model no they were Stop changing cars so often! Scoob looks a good one though

Good to see everyone that I've not seen since the last event, thanks to all guys that bought loads of bits off me today as well!

What were you expecting ? and why bother with traders, you can buy off Matt Lewis 24/7 on e-bay and he's as cheap as anyone.

A show like Central Day is about getting round the cars and seeing people you havent seen since last season, catching up with friends and watching a bit of racing.

Apart from the ridiculous amount of space allocated for each regional group stand it was a proper good day, the fact our stand still had all its cars on it at 3:30 and there was no queue to get out when I left at 4:00pm shows how good the show was.

Well Done Central Group !!

Got to say this is the most bad feedback central group has ever had ! I hope the ones that ran this take the comments on board and learn from there mistakes. If it aint broke dont try to fix it as you only mess things up!

i managed to make the day, albeit with drama on the sat night with the car just dying for no reason. Sorted sun morning and made the trip. Some nice cars on display and was good to meet maria and beef, altho beef mate, you looked as tho you were going to slot me one when i met you on the grandstand lol

Seemed a well run show, however i must comment on the drag strip.........The FEW who got good times, this doesnt apply to, but dont people know how to launch and run down the strip???? Kangarooing or wheel spinning half way up the strip whilst bouncing off the limiter seemed to be the forte of the day

There were some really quick cars however, blacky's MK3 was a great performer, as were a handful of others

Anyhow, looking forward to the next decent show and meeting some more people
