As i'm thinking of selling my cabby soon i've just done an RAC HPI check for both my own peace of mind, but also for any buyer to look at. All has come back OK apart from the milage which says there may be a discrepancy as it doesn't match the records of the NMR (National Milage register). My car shows 76,059 with MOTs and receipts since 2004 when it showed 49,392. However the NMR showed that on 16th Feb 2008 it was recorded as having both 110,000 and 123,000 miles. On the HPI check it says if I have proof of actual milage to provide they will check it and alter their records, but i've looked on the interweb for a contact number for them and can't find one.

anybody could have caused the issue thats why i dont like NMR

if you put into a hpi report that mileage then it causes a discrepancy.

it depends where the discrepancy came from.

you need a nmr investigation, ive been through this it was a right cunt, i had to fax of service books paperwork old mot's etc they will then decide to edit it or not

Are you looking for a contact number for HPI?

Here you go. They are based in Salisbury, Wilts and in my experience are pretty useful when it comes to resolving HPI queries. They have a team tasked with sorting discrepancies out. Obviously they will need proof before they will amend the record but thats what its all about isn't it? Good luck.
