Unhappy No boost and loads of smoke.... blown turbo?!

Took the car out today and pretty sure the turbo has shat itself.

Its been getting smokier for a while now and was down on boost and power when it went on the rollers a couple of weeks ago, down over 5 psi at the top end. Its also been sounding like I have a siren under the bonnet when it spools.

there was no big bang or anything, it just made a scraping noise at around 10 psi on part throttle and then no more boost. Its not smoking much under load (but making no boost) but at idle its just comical! It is literally a cloud of blue smoke!

I limped it home put it in the garage and walked away, I'm so fucked off! Work is looking less and less certain, the recession has hit recruitment hard.

So would I be better getting an internally gated GT30, ST escos plenum and a map done? Turbo like this one:

Rather than banging on another T34.63? As this would make more power, but won't be on the ragged edge. From the videos cossierich's saph goes alright on this set up and the T34 has only lasted 2k miles, and another might only be the same.

The only prob could be if the extra power finds the next weak link to be the block as its a 205 on a .5 bore, although it was fully rebuilt with pistons, rods and ground crank 14k ago, and I had a WRC gasket put on last year. Will it be ok at circa 400 bhp? Is the gearbox or diff likely to go bang at that power?

Cost for GT30 will be approx £2.2k (turbo £1045, ST escos inlet £200, Map £500, Major service with camblet, all fluids, bushes etc £500) where the T34 is £750 but will let go again, and a bit more reliable power would be nice.

Anyone with GT set up comment?
