Copy cylinder heads
Have a few rare cyl-heads most of them very old and too far gone, who could copy them out a block of metal and restore valve throat and port dimensions, head depth, combustion chamber back to original spec so it can be safely reused back on the original blocks (which are fine)?
Thanks, Trev

Arr ok...
Its not going to be easy - you'll need someone to knock up CAD drawings and then get a small foundary to cast a bare head for you...
Then getting it machined up.
Its possible - like anything is - but massivly expensive!

The machinest we use in France passed away recently and regret having to outsource the job. Money isn't an issue but finding someone trustworthy and skilled to do the job is.

Hi TWoods,
If you tell me what you are working on I might be able to help, I am currently rebuilding an 83 year old aero engine that is one of a dozen or so left in the world, is that the sort of rarity you are thinking of?
This is one of several I work on.

The hard part will not be getting one made, the hard part will be getting someone to manipulate the digitised data to reflect what you're requiring port wise, head thickness etc... before it's re-cut from a blank.
I take it they're all steel? If so then why can they not be repaired conventionally? There's not a lot that can't be repaired if you know the right people.
You could try a guy I know called Bruce @ Merlin Developments...he rebuilds destroyed vintage race engines, old F1 engines, etc..... basically stuff like you're after that cannot be reproduced or replaced (due to rarity).
