A guy at work was saying they will start to give people with cars older than 9 years, 2k towards a new car?

Is it not Ł2k off a super-mini eco-friendly type car when you trade yours in against it?

 

Yes,its 2k off selected models,in other words,2k off shite you or I would never buy anyway,keep looking.

 

2k for a persons old car (that they drive because they can't afford a new car) to encourage them into debt?

Is that not what caused our ecconimic melt down in the first place, people getting into debt to easily?

I also got told if the car was over 10 years old the goverment would give you 2 grand towards a new car.

 

supose the thinking is - more people buy new cars, keeping the motor industry going meaning more jobs or less redundancies so more people employed having money to spread round.

Whilst getting lots of old cars off the roads and making everyone greener.

Would like to see what agreements car manufacturers have to agree to ie not see an increase in sales due to this but then decide to keep production out of the country meaning we aren't benefiting in the way we are meant to?

 

there is a petition against this happening on the 10 downing street website, i saw a link to it on turbosport ive signed the petition as its another goverment scheme trying to get people dripped up on new cars to help the banks out and take older cars off the road in one swoop! if the goverment win and start getting the old cars off the roads then a lot of garages in the country are going to suffer because they have no work and will have to close so people like me will be out of business!!
