Default Generally how bad are carbon bonnet fitment ?

as above,,,, mine seems to be about a inch short though the gaps at the edges are spot bollock on ?, the grill is over hanging by about half a inch which is making me think it might not be the bonnet but the front panel too far forward ?

anyone else have experience of carbon bonnets ?

Depends who made it!

If it was made properly, there's no reason why it should sit exactly as the original did!

some fit 100% spot on, and some look like a 2 year old chimp has fitted them.

the only difference is about £2k lol

you get what you pay for with a lot of carbon stuff

what u gotta ask yourself is did the original bonnet fit ok?!

Cos if it did then ur front panel is fine and the bonnet u bought hasnt been made right, it should have been made exactly the same size as yours that was on there ie all cossie ones are the same from factory so should fit ur car ok, unless as said wasnt made very well!

toeknee my car has had a front impact and so has a new cross member and slam panel, headlamps, grill, bumper, BONNET, rad, cam belt cover and im sure more also pmsl

the lower part was mangled but the sides not bent,,, the wings where perfect and the sidelamps fine, the cross member being welding a little forward could be the reason as it fits on the sides to the back spot bollock on, all the edges meet PERFECT apart from he front is half a inch short in the middle

I had one carbon bonnet on my Evo for a while, not a very special fit.

Not bad, but not a good enough fit for my liking so removed it. I have new carbon bonnet which is a much better fit, but came at a much worse price

£795 for the first one

Not sure on the retail on the 2nd, but it's a better one so guess would cost a wee tad more!

Was the bonnet a new one that you have? Send it back if so.

Or if not too bad, just ignore it and enjoy the car
