Did you take them off a Granada 24V Cosworth? If not, then they are not the same as Saff and Escos ones.

never took them off a cosworth..think it was a 2.9 ghia??? i have got 2wd sierra cosworth discs and they seem to fit well..also had to space the calipers by 1mm same as the cosworth calipers...whats the difference between the 2 types? is the piston diameter/seal the same? the n/s caliper bracket has 310 on it..cant see a number on the caliper or on the other side

They will be 260mm calipers if from a Ghia (unless someone has already converted the Granada. I would check your discs as a lot of motor factors list Cossie 2wd discs as 260mm for some reason

Piston is bigger on the 4wd Cossie one compared to the "normal" calipers.

There are 2 types of Granada Cossie ones. M10 and M12 bolt fixings. You need the M12 ones to fit a 4x4 Cossie. Same as the rear calipers from a 24V are the same as Escos and Saff 4x4 Cos ones.

Just ask Dojj or Mick. They will confirm what I am saying.

the calipers on the 4wd cos and 24v granada are the same
it's the mounting bracket that the caliper bolts onto that is different
these will have either M10 for 90-91 granadas or M12 for the 92-98 granada/scorpio

they also differ on the offset they provide, there is an extra 4mm on the 4wd cos brackets that can be removed if you want to fit them to the XR hubs with 2wd discs

there are more variations with the hubs on the 2.0 dohc 4wd cars but, for this instance, it seems that you've got the later M12 bolts and, by drilling the hubs, you will only be able to use them calipers

on the plus side, you will now be able to bolt on mk3 mondeo calipers and st170 focus 300mm discs

so do you think i have calipers thats the same as 4wd sierra cos? like i said earlier only numbers i can find are 310 on the n/s bracket..just trying to clear this up cos i think im gonna have to replace the seals cos they are sticking..do you know of any other cheap but effective brake upgrade i can do seeing as ive limited my choices by drilling the hub?thanks for the info you gave

ps i have only got standard 15 wheels for series1..got some 3dr cossie wheels aswell that i can fit if this helps fit bigger/better brakes

you've deffo got post 92 granada calipers

or even the mondeo V6 ones for the mk2 if romours are to be believed

measure the inside bit of the piston as this may give you some idea of what they are, but seal kits are cheap as chips, you only have 2, one inner fluid seal and one outer dust seal so as long as you don't use the words "cosworth" you won't get taxed on it as such

i've got loads of them floating about so if you give me the measurements of the inside i can go and check with mine, preferably using vernier calipers rather than an old plastic school ruler though eh
