Default Help from the Norfolk/Norwich/Ipswich folks... regarding directions to Diss

Im having a road trip from sunny South Shields in the North East to Diss (Norfolk area) on Thursday to collect an exhaust for my bike, and i'm wondering what the best route to take is, once i come off the A1?

A1 onto A14 then i goes into the A11

Stay on the A11 to Thetford, then you want to come off at the 3rd thetford roundabout. (3rd Exit) stay on that road for about 1mile across one big roundabout to next little roundabout which is signposted Diss 1st exit then stay on that for about 10 miles then you there.

Cheers Stu, i'll have the trusty Tom Tom in the car with me but that doesnt always take you the best route, getting a bit of local knowledge wouldnt be a bad thing.

that will most likely take you a14 all way to Bury St Edmunds and along the a134 which is a pain in the ass road BUT your on a motorbike so might be ok!

Maria - Yeah, me and one of my mate Leigh (who is training to be a driver at the moment) fancied a day out somewhere different - He has his qualifying rules in May and I have my bi-annual rules in September so we are using the ride there and back as an opportunity for revision aswell so killing 2 birds with one stone

And since its not costing us anything then why the hell not

almost everyother shop has closed/is closing down tho, I could think of better things to do in Norwich than shop anyway, Like go down riverside and have a few beers in the sun!

Beers in the sun is one reason we are going, providing it is sunny

Last time I went to Norwich was about 12 years ago so can't really remember much about it

Indeed.. Can't beat a pint in the sun at the Weatherspoons!

Saying that a pint on the rear terrrace next to the river at the Rushcutter arms on Yarmouth road is simply unbeatable

SINSINS is a nice shop!!
It's worth a walk to either Castle Mall, or Chapelfield.

Made it down and back alright

On the way down i was heading alongthe A14 and my satnav died had to take a bit of a detour to find a currys to buy an in car charger, sold out... tried to find another place and stumbled upon a halfords, which had one in stock... phew!

Made a mistake on the way home though and tried to go a more direct route along the A47, which ended up being slower than the A14/A11 combo was on the way down

Cheers for the help you lot

PS... whats going on with those tractors parked up along the side of the A47 as if theyre being shown off?
