I have a 5lb bottle with a WON 50 bhp setup and I get just over 60 seconds out of it, so that should see you a few runs up the strip I would have thought!

Give it a go and find out

And if you use it in an anti lag setup it should last even longer.

You know that 25 in on a turbo'd ebngine usually equates to a 50bhp increase?

yes i was aware of that, and 60 seconds would be be about 6 runs and thats about what i thought it would do so thats cool.
p.s wont be using it as anti lag .

My last refill, years back, was Ł4.50 per lb.

I think I worked out if you had your own bulk tank you could reduce the cost to nearer Ł2 per lb of gas.

As you'd expect from that, my 10lb bottle cost me Ł45 to fill.

Dunno if its an urban myth or not but I heard they stored pressurised liquid oxygen in the tubes of the roll cages in rally cars many moons ago

That would be fucking lethal if there was a fire.
Nitrous would be a LOT safer.

Plus you'd find the accident funny

if u remember right lol was told by WON that an 11lbs bottle will last around 11 minutes with 25 shot jet.
so your full bottle should last around 5mins if the system is setup proper
good idea to have a heater blanket with pressure switch to keep the pressure of the bottle the same all day

11lb bottle is Ł66 now & can get just over 1min of usefull Nitrous from that with 200bhp jets thats nearly Ł1 a second . Dont believe all this double the horsepower nonsense on a RR 50bhp jets gave 45bhp.

I was only quoting Trevor Langford, as I have not got a turbo to prove or disprove that claim

thats what trevor told me yesterday when i bought a load of jets off him!! to start off with the 25hp set up (a 20 and a 50 jet) that would see upto 50bhp on my turbo engine.

Approx consumption = 1lb per min at 25bhp, so yes I agree with trevor more or less.

I would argue that the last pound or so isnt useable though

So more like 4 mins on a 5lb bottle.

It depends on application, on a typical application you will be getting on for double the BHP for smaller shots, the larger the shot becomes though, the less this happens, until eventually you are struggling to even make the jetted amount, especially on a small highly stressed engine.

So both trevor and rod are correct based on my experince of it, they are just each talking about a slightly different aspect of it.

Also the worse your intercooler, the more power you will gain of course, as the extra gains are largely about the cooling effect.

crazycage, i would try taking some 50bhp jets with you, that tends to work well fixed hit on a 2.0 16v turbo generally IME.

You dont want to be hitting the rev limiter on nitrous no, things can get fairly interesting if you do.

Oh fuck me yes, makes a massive difference!

Especially a decent one like a max extreme or a maximiser.

you got no chance of doing a 10 sec 1/4 try15___16 sec 1/4 so you will not get that many runs in .
