Default speeding

my lads just been done for speeding [twice now] idiot that he is, he only passed his test a yr ago so he now has to do it all again, my question is, has anyone else done this and what sort of insurance premium will he be looking at come renewal time as when he declares this id expect them to run a mile, presume if he passes his test again he can still see out the remaining insurance? or does he need to tell them now?

Needs to tell as soon as gets points(technically as soon as he knows a prosecution), they don't actually take that much notice these days, with most as they see it as a given risk with all cameras etc, plus if someone has points maybe they would drive more carefully ?

In the past my insurance have not raised it at all, said it was near impossible not to get caught at some point.

The ban may have an effect, but may depend on what speed he was doing and what the charges are.

35 in a 30 twice may be viewed diff to 100mph in a 30

I've known a couple of people who've had their licence revoked and it's hardly affected the insurance at all to be honest

if its the same as someone at work then he has to do an extended restest which is more expensive too do!!!

He got banned for dangerous driving but the test cost is double as they take u out for longer in the car etc plus u have to hire the car for 2hrs to do it!

i got 11pts 2weeks before my probation period was up i had to retake my test and theory but didnt have to do extended test. as for insurance my license says i've had a full license since i first passed and it didn't say anything about having it revoked and me taking it again. i told the insurance company about the points and having to take my test again and all they wanted to know was when i first passed my test. my mate got 6 pts in the probation period and never had his license revoked, i think you have to get more than 6pts. if he was to plead he needs his license they might hold him on 6pts and let him keep it

i cant see that having to resit your test after 2 speeding charges , especially the 49 in a 30, wont have a dramatic effect on his insurance premium. he's obviously a high risk young driver in an insurers eyes.

i just got back on the road after getting a DD40 last year (don't ask) any way norwich union who i had been with before and including the 2 years ncb i allready had was going to charge me £2700 tpft on a kangoo 665 which only cost £580 the year before my ban with 1y ncb. i am 24btw
yer i know DD400 is a bad one but thay said it would not of matter what you got baned for it would have been the same as there "dubbleing any one with a ban" so i said thankyou but no and whent with quick fit for £1300

whats a dd40? dangerous driving?
my insurer charges me 15% for every 3 points with another 25% on top if i cross the 12 point mark and get a ban. it doesnt drop by the same amount when the points are removed or spent as youve already shown yourself to be a risk taker.
