Default mitsubishi L200's

Can anyone tell me what they are like to live with ?
Im hoping to swap my 540 for a black one so i can get it signwriten for work and use it for a bit of advertising (a bit pikeyish i know) i cant get the vans signed up because we do too much sub contract work and dont want to risk upsetting the guy's supplying the work.

What are the mitsi's like on fuel round town and on a run ? are they expensive to maintain/insure etc etc .
any info moocho apreciato

Not really sure tbh
problem is although i have the cash to just buy one , i cant have another vehicle where i live (2 vans, rangey, bmw etc etc) so my only option is to find someone thats advertising one and wants to swap or px! (theres a couple on ebay) .

Realisticly i should be looking between 3-4k but im a bit reluctant to get rid of a great car for something that might be fookin awfull to live with and end up having to get rid. hence wanting to know if theyre any good. hope that makes sense.

Can you not put one of your cars on your mates drive, parents drive, works car park etc?

I think personally ull be disappointed, i was, so slow and gutless where as the Navara was actually pritty quick for a big truck, then had a go of a Navara with a tuning box on it and bloody hell it flew!!

Theres no where i can put any cars unfortunately. I do have a garage but there will be a cossie project going in there very soon.

I have looked at the nissan and the isuzu version and tbh im not keen on the overall look, and not sure if i could justify the extra cost over an l200 ? its not as if it will grab any more attention and create more buisness and i dont drive fast on the road (especially with my company name plastered all over it)so the whole speed thing is of no importance. it will only be used locally for general round town guffage and for getting the jet ski to the launch ramp.

They arnt a bad truck. There was a recall on the pas pump bracket cause they were sopposedly cracking and throwing the aux belts off.The back leaf springs snap too.You can also get ecu upgrades for better performance. Its just an ecu that plugs into the original ecu.

Quick update incase anyone ever wants to ask the same question.
Took a mitsi and a navara out on test drive today . Words cant explain just how awfull these things are.
The navara seemed to be of a slightly higher build quality than the mitsi but felt much heavier and drives like a pig. The L200 is only one step up from a tractor ! if you like cheap plastic then they are definately the vehicles for you .
The bit i cant get my head around is how the fuck can something with such a hard uncomfortable ride roll around bends and handle so badly even at very low speeds

ive got a 51 plate L200 and its been brilliant in the 30k miles ive done in it...never let me down once...touch wood....ok they are a bit on the hard side and dont handle great buy hey....its a truck for christ sake,i brought mine for a purpose and it does what it says on the tin just fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Navaras have engine probs too which will cost you a fortune!

If you do look at getting one check rear leaf springs(they crack),bottom balljoints go easily, check to make sure ecu light doesnt come on once fully warm.....take it for a good test drive and check it doesnt light up on tickover...very common prob on the L200.

Ive never found it bad on fuel either but i never drive it hard to be honest...i get on a motorway run between 30-35mpg which i dont think is bad for a pick up.
