i have been thinking of getting one for a while now,have any of you guys used them are they worth it.And they only seem to in america which isnt to much of a problem my mate lives in new york so he coukd pick me up one and post it to me,just wondering if they are worth the 150 dollar price mark,and do they make much of a differance over hand polishing

They make a massive difference over hand polishing. Check out the threads over on detailing world for proof. Don't forget you'll need a power supply for the Porter Cable. You can get the Meguiars ones as well and they're the standard 3 pin plugs.

have been on detaling world,seems confusing there are so many different polish,sealents,waxes,compounds im new to all that sort of stuff

 

I don't understand it all either.

If you start off with all Meguiars kit it'll tell you what does what and then you can progress and do your own thing when you know what you're doing. Plus their website is very helpful.

 

The meguries one is MUCH nicer to use and has a UK warrant and UK power cable!

Much better buy imo.
