Wall Mounting my Tv
anyone local help me do it?
I have stud walls and want to wall mount my 42 lcd, and hide all the wires!
If anyone wants to help, there's free tea and coffee, and maybe a few beers too?!
Please, pretty please ( I don't trust myself to get it right! )

I mounted my 19" on the wall, was a piece of piss... Made hole for fused plug at bottom of wall, chopped plug off cable and dropped down wall (through a hole behind area TV will cover) and wired in to plug, Arial out the same hole as power went in to, fix the mount and job done! Just make sure you use a spirit level when fitting mount!
Will weight not be an issue on plasterboard wall with a 42"? Genuinely interested as I would like a bigger TV in my bedroom to replace the 19"

patience and planning is the key, make sure you have the correct type of wall plugs, long enough screws and with mine i needed washers to go on the screw to get them to give the bracket extra support, mine says it can hanlde up to 45kg, but my mate was hanging off of it and hes a good 80kgs. just make sure you put enough into the wall and try to make them as evenly spaced as possible.
and as above for the holes, a wire coat hanger and some string is a good bet as well

I'm not happy with running the power cable down the inside of the wall, should anything happen insurance would most likely not pay out!
As for the weight issue with a 42, yes it would be a problem, hence why i need to make sure that the screws etc actually go in to the stud
Hence the reason why i want someone who's done one before lol!

You'll never get all the fixings into a stud. Personally, I would be cutting out the plasterboard, adding a frame in behind it, and then making it good.
Why would insurance not pay out because you have a cable in a wall?
Where do you think your electric cables run

Yeah, but they are quite substantial compared to the power cable for a tv? I may be misinformed, but is it worth risking? I don't know if the cables would over heat or something behind the plasterboard, i dunno, ain't done one before!
As for cuttingout plasterboard, that really does sound like a pro job!

If you dont want to risk it then conduit is what you're looking for but its a slightly less professional look
I certainly wouldnt be mounting my 42" tv without making a frame behind the plasterboard
