Question welding question

hi all,just wondering if its possible/ok to repair chassis leg/s with stainless steel?thought about making a part leg bit up and welding it in using dissimilar welding rods,

It is possible but not recomended IMO because stainless steel is twice harder in flex than the steel that is normaly used on cars so it will stress other sheets and structure of the area resolting to cracks and because the stainless steel it self will start cracking due to fatique after some time...
However if you like to weld stainless steel to simple steel you mast use stainless steel electrodes (but a MIG would be better and easier and with less undercut on the sheet).
