I detest the Nissan Micra and all who drive it. If you see a Micra on the road, watch it because it WILL do something fucking stupid and/or dangerous.
These are cars for people who say "a car is just something that gets you from A to B". This kind of person is a shit driver.
So Nissan, who are just Datsun renamed. I don't hate all their cars, but I hate them for producing the Micra![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Saab 9000 turbo,s the older ones, f g reg era......... pal used to have one few yrs ago, yes was fast but it drove like a P&O , stunk inside and fell apart inside.
Not to mention the failures under the bonnet, it owed a small fortune for no mods wotso ever, he kept ravin on abt it tho which made me laugh , piece of shite mate i used to say then i wooped him in my xr2turbo after pickin it up n he didnt like it 1 bit. lol .
So for me a combo of him actin like mcrae when he drove it, the lack of knowledge abt his car n the fact he never a million yrs imagined my mk2 fes would stuff him on motorway . 40-70mph quicker than a ferrari,,,,,,,, yeh yeh wotever.

Anyone into fast cars that handle would appreciate one, but I realise to some people cars about "phat bodykits" or "mad flip paint yo" etc and they dont score highly on that side of things, so wont appeal to all, but certainly likely to with anyone into performance at all.

I hate hate HATE the new fooking mini!!!
First saw it when it was shown at the motorshow in Birmingham and took an instant disliking to it.
The worst thing is i don't really know why![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
I've driven one and I'll more than happily admit that they are very good to drive.
But, every time i see one on the road i feel this seething rage build up inside me and i want to just pull the driver out and smash their face into every single fucking panel of there over priced, smug, cunt-mobile.
I think it's a combination of the fact that 95% of the people who drive them are are numb bastards who buy cars as a fashion accessory rather than for practicality, performance etc. The fact they always seem to have their lights on and most importantly it is not very fucking mini for a car called a mini! They're fucking huge!

its a glorified lotus elise with a vauxhall engine. but i still dont like it as i did try to sit in one and i could not fit properly, and every manafacturer has at least one decent to good car but i just hate the styling of the vx220.
the lotus carlton is in a league of its own. and some of the old vauxhalls were good cars, i drove a cavalier turbo a few years back and compared to most new vauxhalls it was brilliant.
i personally think where manafacturers are going wrong is there sharing to many parts, ie engines, chassis etc, vectra shares loads with saab 93, focus stwith volvo etc knobody seems to know how to design there own parts now a days they seem to share, thats why i have issues with modern cars. even ford have gone to pot in last couple of years, the mk2 focus rs, an amazing car but its half bloody volvo, its also made on the same production line as a 1.4 lx focus so i here, whats that all about i always though RS's where supposed to made exclusiveley so to speak. its all down to penny pinching company directors. same wit the new ka being basically a fiat 500, maybe a good car but its not really a ford

LMAO as that comment, as if being a "glorified lotus elise" is a bad thing.
They are awesome cars and make a great starting point, very shrewd decision by vauxhall to use their technology, a bit like it was a good decision by ford to use the Reliant factory's experience in building the robin when they gave them the job of making the RS200 shells.
Ford have absolutely nothing that comes close sadly, its a real shame that proper performance cars seems to be a market segment they are too scared to enter ![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
The cavalier turbo was so nearly a great car, but lack of reliability of the 4wd system really effected it.
The problem is that with the amount of legislation to adhere to these days, its VERY expensive to create a new platform, so sharing that cost among many cars tends to be a very good way to make it affordable to do so without having to put thousands of pounds extra on the price of each new car, which would in many cases cuts sales down to almost nothing.

In standard form the old RS200 would be FAR slower round a track than a VX220 turbo actually mate.
Anyway, I didnt say "its a shame ford have never made" I said its a shame they dont have currently, and that it seems a market segment they are scared to enter at the moment.

Hate is quite a strong word, I'm not keen on run of the mill Nissans, Toyotas and Hyundais. At the risk of entering the Ford Vauxhall debate, I do prefer Ford, but each brand has there plus points. Vauxhall make extremely good engines but they do seem to be a step behind in the handling department ( Current Astra is equivalent to the last Focus etc). I have driven a few Astras and the number 1 gripe for me is the seats, I tend to get back ache from them after a small mileage as do the passengers. I do like a good white Nova GTE though and the Astra GTE 16v mk2 - wow, what an engine.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!

I don't generally hate an entire brand. I'm not a fan of Vauxhall primarily though. Their run of the mill stuff is hideous, the interiors are shite, seats too hard, plastics er plasticy! Imho there are plenty of cars that are nicer places to be. A lot of marques seem to have worked hard on improving build quality exept for vauxhall. Astra sri's i quite like but i would still rather buy plenty of other cars before i chose that. I hate Zafiras with a passion though even the GSI.
The same can be applied to most brands, their run of the mill stuff is generally shite. Its all subjective really, the new micra is a cheap car but i had to endure one for a week as a courtesy car, after a few days it grew on me. It would handbrake a treat and scream its little heart out! Awful car generally but does exactly what it was designed for would run on fresh air if driven properly.
I'm not that blinkered to think Ford are the be all and end all. But i love the brand and always have. As long as they make something that fulfills my needs i would have one on my drive. A lot of brands are unbelievably blinkered, hardcore land rover fans are some of the worse i have encountered!

I certainly hope that it comes back at some point though, and I think that in a slightly different economic climate it would make sense for vauxhall to do so, I dont believe for a minute that internally the vx220 project was deemed as a failure, so I see no reason it wouldnt.

Couldnt agree more ! Ive had a mk1 camels ear (scrap shite), a Nova GSI (old ish shite) and a new astra SXI (new shite). My dad had a mk2 camels ear (standard shite) and my grandad had a mk2 SRI camels ear (just shite)
Its got to be Ford all the way for me

I thought the old cavaliers where good cars, iv had loads and never ever had any problems with them, the 8v engines are solid, they are a good cheap car to smoke about in today i think

Maybe so but for me, once you've had a few crap cars of a certain make, im not going to keep buying that make in the hope that i'll stumble on a good one. Each to their own though eh, just that Vauxhall aint for me

i have i found them a boring drive, yes they do have some quite mech cars out there but what it always comes down to is they are not a drivers car more of a person that wants to jump in drive it to the shops and pose at the birds outside the co-op. getting back to the evo/scooby thing they are dead and more like pc's on wheels with the driver as an aid to the car not the driver drivering the car, iam not just attacking just evo/scooby boys out there but the kia and honda are the same, honda make great engines but they think in terms that the car wieght as much as a crisp packet yes they would be find but as they dont then thats the problem, like the yank's they have big bore engines but the fuel and power output is crap to say the least!iam not trying to piss people off but just trying to remind people that there are cars out there that have more to offer other than price

as many people have said, hate is too strong a word, but I have an intense dislike of Citroen... mainly due to the horrrendous zx diesel i owned previously rather than anything else.
a specific car that really churns my stomach is the Fiat Multipla. hideous when it came out and still hideous now IMO.

I went to test drive a Vauxhaull when I wanted one. The model I was after was the 100ps CDTi and I was taken out in a 150CDTi and told it was the 100CDTi. At first I was amazed at how quick it was. Luckily I knew the differences in the engine bay, being on an Astra forum and this lost him the deal and I headed to Volvo.
I still think they're the best looking hatch out at the moment, bar none. The SRi with the XP pack in white is as good looking as a Focus ST. If that was the new 'BMW' looking like that, everyone would have one.
Benni.

i recently sold a c4 vts 2.0 hdi, basically for basics its great but as someone here already said they have squeezed to much technology into french cars and they still have not perfected the said technology, i sold it as it was mechanically brilliant electronically crap
