yeah the french taxis are brill, also the initial d anime is better than the film, the film is cantonese, not japanese and the plot line is very different from the original

there is an animated film called grand prix, that is brilliant

and the original gone in 60 seconds has just the best car chase in it, lasts about 45 minutes too and he seriously smacks the shit out of that car

H B Halicki's Gone in 60 Seconds - the original and utterly brilliant driving sequences
The Junkman by the same guy - possibly the thinnest story line ever but its all about the stunts and driving
Rendezvous in Paris - Ok the sound doesnt match att imes but there is still the ever present sense of speed that makes the film watchable
The Car - 70's cross between christine and Duel, ind of ok if I remember correctly
Duel - Oldy but a goody, Steven Spielberg directed, more phsycological than pure driving
Black Moon Rising - Hmmmmmmm I'm neither recommneding nor saying its crap, youdecide...
Death Race 2000 - When I was a kid I thought it was the best film ever.....
Death Race - Remake of above, its sort of ok...
I'll have a bit more of a think and list some more later on

The Island has a good chase at the end.

Also like someone mentioned earlier, taxi's the french versions. The Choreography is superb.
