If it was your own money, and you could only have one of the 2 cars, which one would you go for? Similar price but opposite ends of the scales on some counts..

1) Ferrari 360 Modena..
Stylish and sexy, not exactly slow,prestige,pose value, noise ultimate petrol head car marque? But fairly expensive to run, can't really tune or modify them.





Or

2) An Ultima GTR.
THE fastest production car in the world, 0-100-0 in 9.3 secs , smashed the top gear lap recored (unofficially) by 5 seconds! Now 40k wouldn't get you the 720BHP engine, but would be an easy upgrade once you had a bit of cash spare.... But lacks the class/prestige and pose value of the F-car..





What would you choose and why?

GTR for me. Not a Ferrari fan at all. Also don't have to worry too much about the depreciation/service costs with the Ultima.

TBH I would spend it on a porsche 911 turbo and some tuning for it, as Id prefer that to either of those two.

GTR. Ferrari's are overrated and overpriced IMO (sorry AJ ). Nice enough cars but they have a bit of an image problem in my view, most times when you see someone driving one they have the designer glasses on etc and most of them just scream 'wanker'.

GTR is a drivers car. Not saying the Ferrari isn't, but people buy a Ferrari to drive about and say 'hey, look at my Ferrari don't I look cool'. Most people wouldn't even know what a GTR is.

There was a realy nice 360F1 on pistonheads a bout 4 weeks ago will with Strad wheels,challange grills ect for 41K was realy stunnig but its the servicing costs that put me off.
I ended up with a 996 turbo and love it , doesnt look as flash as a Ferrari but goes just aswell and much more useable.

I'd buy an F355 because I think they look nicer, but out of the two choices it's be the 360. Don't get me wrong, the GTR is insanity fast, but with the Ferrari you're getting all that pedigree (not chum ) and lets face it, you buy cars like these to get pussy. Imagine being down the pub talking to some hot chick who asks what kind of car you drive? Answer = Ferrari.... Knickers = Off..... Answer = Ultima GTR..... Knickers = bored as you now have to explain why it's better than a Ferrari......

To me, a Ferrari, even if it is not the fastest thing in the world, is the car everyone as a kid wanted to own. The only thing that worries me is people might think you are a rich cunt/cock just because you drive one ... But I imagine that they are awsome fun to drive, and a bit of an occasion

The Ultima GTR is the ultimate "Lads" car. Rip your face off fast, and awsome performance in every department, but just lacks a bit of "class" if thats the right word?

Not really a fan of Porsches, just don't do it for me really but the 996 turbos are extremley good value for the performace...Food for thought..

I am considering getting rid of both Cossies and buying one toy, as I am just getting sick of constant problems , and at a stretch I could maybe get 40k together if I could justify it!

Personally i'd have a Lambo. If i was a rich rockstar i'd buy a Ferrari and crash it into the Dealers shop front seconds after buying it and hand the keys back. I hate Ferrari lol

And i don't think too much of the Ultima GTR.

I would personally buy a R-34 GTR and have the 850bhp Top Secret RB26 Engine put in. Thats possible with 40k lol

Out of the 2 cars anyone sensible would buy the 360. You can use it everyday
will fit in a normal garage and is pretty sensible to maintain.
Servicing etc is not as bad as people think..

How many of you have spent what 3-5k a year on your cossies? paint,turbos,cams you know the drill. Well you can service a 360 for a LOT less than that.

Had my 348 18 months now servicing cost up till now less than £100 just needed new plugs and fuel filters the oil can stay in for 2 years
