Right,

After being to Ford for all my bits ( fuel tank fittings ) and after deciding not to buy an original Ford one as they are £268 + Vat I bought a normal one form a body panels place.

The tank is the right one with all of the fittings but what I have noticed is the shapes pressed in on the bottom. My original one on the car has a circle and the one on in the box has Rectangle?

Which is which, does it matter? or is the rectangle one simply 'a copy'?

Or were they both fitted, as I have seen a load of cossy's with the rectangle fitment,

They will both still fit. It doesn't matter about the designs on the bottom of the tank as it will hold the same volume! The circumference and external shape still looks the same

Would be best to buy a genuine new fuel tank strap aswell when refitting

 

Got everything new including a strap luckily

Did they ever fit the rectangle shape as standard? is it 2wd, 3-door?
