Went to fill up today and the key just keeps turning and not unlocking the filer cap. think the internals of the barrel have corroded away.

Is there anyways i can get to the cap from inside the wing? (ERST)

thought about maybe removing the fuel pipe fomr the tank to the wing and getting to the working of the lock from there. Just really need to remove it as ive no way of putting fuel in my daily driver

The filler pipe is held to the wing by a phillips screw which is located.... you guessed it, behind the filler cap

Reckon you'll have to drill it out

 

ahh thought that was the case..., gonna have to go to town on the cap itself then

 

had this on my old mk4. took a mallet to it and had to get a replacement cap.

does anyone know what causes this? or how to prevent it. its the second filler cap on my scort to f**k up!
