Hi guys i am getting a mk5 escort cabrio, its already got RS2000 bonnet, bumpers but i am looking at doing a rear brake conversion to discs. Is this easy what do i need.

Also not sure what engine to change it to at the moment. Its a standard 1.8 efi but am in two minds to change to either an RS2000 or S2 Rs turbo lump any help would be really appreciated

Being a mk5 you can get away with just changing the rear hubs. You'll need the RS handbrake cable too.

When you do the conversion take it to a garage and get the brake efficiency checked. I needed a new master cylinder on my mk6.

Thats great thanks Mal. Is there alot of tunning that can be done to the RS2000 engine? I am looking at building a differant cabrio, i know i could go down the cossie route but fancy something a little differant

I'm not sure about that lump to be honest. I'd go for a 2.0 litre zetec on throttle bodies with uprated cams. Or strap a turbo to it if you're feeling really flush.
