Id say 3 litres for everything as you generaly thin it down with activator 2:1 then 10% thinners

saying that you may struggle to get solvent based 2k nowadays as they want everyone on waterbased now, there are still people around supplying solvent based though

You can syill buy solvent base coat from a few places, they are selling it on the unstanding you are not painting cars with it if you know what I mean! lol

2k paint has not been banned and is easy to get hold of if you are in the trade, its only the solvent base coat paint thats has been replaced with waterbased paint.

Proper paint suppliers should also refuse sale of 2k paints to the public, lots dont though.

If you are painting it in direct gloss (non matalic/no clearcoat) you would need 3 litres. If you are going to paint it base coat/clearcoat then id say 3-4 litres of base and 2-3 litres of clearcoat. Also depends on the colour, brand of paint etc.

easier to to 2k solid colour than base over lacquer, if u have ANY prep marks they will show up in the basecoat then once its lacquered its there forever!! where as solid colour fills some prep marks and others u can still see u can get away with flatting and polishing out!!!

Also as ur doing white over red, unfortunatly red is a bitch to colour over sometimes, and especially with base/clear it can 'bleed' thru and show up in places unless the whole car gets re-primed first!! Less likely to happen with 2k solid colour.

Not sure what the deal is these days with getting hold of it but i know a mates dad's sprayshop still spray using solvent basecoat not water lol, also makes me laugh as laquer is still solvent so still shit loads of it going into the atmosphere

As said 3L is about right for a complete colour change!!
