Gran torino.....who's seen it??? ** Spoiler Alert **
Went to see this at the weekend, absolutely LOVED it!!!!!!
Eastwoods character is so dry, but cool with it too!
"Do you ever come accross someone, once in a while, you know you shouldn't have f*cked with....?"
Definately worth a watch!

Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood), a retired FORD automobile assembly line worker and a Korean war veteran, lives with his dog Daisy in a changing Michigan neighborhood which is dominated by immigrants. At his wife's funeral, Walt bristles at the shallow eulogy of young Father Janovich. He looks on with disgust at his two sons, Mitch and Steve, and their families, who show little regard for the memory of Walt's wife. Walt views his relations as rude, spoiled, and self-absorbed, always avoiding him unless it is in their own interest.

he's a proper grumpy old mofo
it's a most excelent film, and it's very surprising in that it's got not twists or turns, it's just a gentle rolling tale of the few weeks after his mrs funeral
at the end of the day, walt (mr kowolski, only my friends call me walt, padre ) just wants to do the right things and mind his own business (get off my lawn )
the best scene though is the barber and toad you have to see it to see just how it is

PMSL yeah you just reminded me about that bit, I watched a clip on youtube last night, the one where he pulls up in his van and says
"What are you SPOOKS upto.....?" where they're threating the girl.
Straight to the point!
I read an Interview with Eastwood a couple of weeks back, he said that he enjoyed playing Walts character, and although he doesn't believe in racism, he thinks the world is too Politically correct nowadays, and playing that part on screen gave him the chance to break away from the "norm" I have to agree with that....!

I don't agree TBH, if you click on a post with the title of a film you can obviously expect to see SOME details about it surely????? Otherwise what's the point in posting it if your not going to have people discuss it in the first place???
You can't expect everyone to hold your hand "Just incase" you read something you don't want to i.e. football results or whatever.

He's playing an old man, gonna be slow, otherwise wouldn't be realistic....
I liked the story, ending surprised me, not seen him killed before; died in Honkytonk man I know.
Not aware of it being done to death.
Reckon it'll be last film he acts in as he was killed, would hope not.
Thought it was brilliant.
