Default tyre sizing

how are space savers sized? im looking at a 165/70 tyre but theres no way its a 70 per cent profile, do they measure them diff on these? as the tyre is like a rubber band,lol

They use a totally different measuring system to conventional tyres.

Buggered if I know, just phoned someone I know who owns some tyre/exhaust/moto x outlets.

they are random, some of them make sense, most dont.
What do you need a tyre for? (not being cocky, i am a tyre fitter asnd thought i might be able to think of something!)

im trying to size up a suitable spacesaver to keep as a spare, so need to know how to work the sizes out so i can buy something thats not too far off the mark

ahh, i see, bit of a tough one that.
what size wheel is it, and what size tyre has it got to be equivilant too? i will have a nose at tyres in cars at work and see if i can spot something.
