think they revised engine before they facelifted it.
Older engine just uses more oil. Facelift command over 10k. You can find cheap pre facelift ones though.
if you shop around They are out there.

dont worry so much about vanos mate... its not as common as everyone makes out.
Service history is important.

Quite tempted by one of these myself.
Something about having the T.V. on at 150mph!!
Was considering an Audi RS4 but more to go wrong with the Audi mechanicals wise.
Audi more expensive too!

I'd defo go for a facelift car!! ( i did lol )
They have far too many little extras to list, as well as the more obvious ones like TV and Phone etc.
I love mine so much!
But ive had it for 6 months

it isnt cut and dried that ALL the earlier cars are heavy oil users, some use no oil , some drink it!, if private ask the seller, if he is genuine he will tell you.

Mine is a pre facelift one and does tend to drink a bit of oil roughly a litre to evry 800/1000 miles and at £15 a litre something to factor in if ya doing big miles. I Got the widescreen tv in mine and would opt for that but you can pick them up on e-bay and swap them over defo get the dvd Mk4 dvd rom sat nav to not the cd based mk3 as that it slow as fook. Make sure all electrics work. and the usual checks panel gaps etc etc. Anything else just ask
