I got the set that was normaly 150 for 99 in there sale, beast of a set as well, built my corsa turbo with this set alone almost, i would use halfords of sealy/draper tbh, but machine mart are good as well for general garage stuff like jacks and stands, there file and screw driver sets are good and cheap also, there impact gun is good also and under 100 as well

I think there is a socket set that youre all over looking......

You can now get a decent Blue Point Socket set direct from a Snap On dealer for the same price if not less than a Halfords set and IMO its better quality!!

Ive bought Snap On stuff for years now and when I sneered about the Blue Point stuff to my dealer he told me that the Blue Point stuff was in fact very good!!

from memory i think the complete 1/4 drive Blue Point socket set is about £65 which i think is superb value!!

then obviously its a bit more for the 3/8 or 1/2 drive sets or you can get an entire 1/4 - 1/2 set.

Definitely try and get a trade card if you can. I saved a LOT on Halfords Pro tools with it

Lifetime = lifetime, as opposed to snap-on being what they consider the lifetime of the tool.
Great stuff, and cheap enough to lose bits and not commit suicide.
Really starting out cheap stuff is what you want if it gets you most of what you need, and upgrade as and when you want to, or bits break, at least you've the basics there.

Best mechanic I knew only used cheap tools, and had them in old polly pocket lunchboxes.
One I worked with bought cheap tools so he didn't have to use his snap-on.

I've got the £100 (on offer) set, can't beat it.

there is a 150 piece halford pro toolkit on offer at the moment for £99 and to be honest a got this and its a really good bit of kit. They all so sell rachet spanners that are flat where your pushing or pullin the spanner and these are the best tool a have seen for a while!I use snap on and britool tools aswell and for the money it costs for snap on stuff (yes it is the best) but would not look past halfords pro tools(lifetime cover, price, feel these are good tools that a would buy!!!!what more do you need?????? cheeRS

Agreed, the Halfords Pro stuff is pretty good! Even better if you can get hold of a trade card (if you have mechanics qualifications or can produce a mechanics/engineering related pay slip) and you get about 1/3 off into the bargain
