the only thing i saw about it was that even bad people repent and that sometimes you are just too young to understand

a totaly different film to the one i thought i was going to watch based on some reviews on here in the past

Very very good film and for anyone who grew up in a working class environment in the early 80's it holds a special appeal.

It raises the questions for the young lad and him coming to terms with loosing his father in the Falklands war

It also raises the problem faced by the skinhead movement which was never traditionally a racist culture, in fact one embracing black music such as reggae and Ska hence Milky, but nationalists from the National Front using the look etc for their own ends, the footage of the meeting they have in the remote pub where then NF official comes in his XJS to address the crowd could be today with the BNP

And then you get back to the whole relationship and struggle between the young lad and the racist skinhead

Especially at the end when he realises that its wrong and not what he wants, good triumphing over bad.

Good soundtrack as well. Great 80's tunes and a couple of good classical tracks.

Great film, Shane Meadows directed it, did a top job. His other film Dead Mans Shoes is definitely worth a watch, fantastic plot .

dead man shoes is an exceptional film, especially when he is standing at the door in that gas mask and one of them fellas sees him while he is off his head on pills, and when he walks into that cafe and says to him "what you fu**kin lookin at" and he replies "you, you fuc*in cu*t" brilliant!!

the film is about the young kiddy being shown A WAY of living,
and even at young age, deciding and realising that its not for him. IMO.

I think the film is nothing other than a glimps into life in the 80"s for a working class family

If you look to deep into it you wont enjoy it

I thought it was a good film
