cooling fans staying on all the time

Default cooling fans staying on all the time

on my m8 3dr he's changed the switch and alls well for about 2-5 days then they start staying on again and WONT turn off till you remove the fuse from the fuse box or remove the wires from the actual switch in the rad any ideas other than dodgy switches

yes still as Ford had it and he DOESN'T want to have a switch inside car as HE may forget to turn it on

The way Tiff's super technical diagram works is the origional switch works the fans but the over ride switch is just additional...

I would say that the fan switch is faulty...OR....he is about to suffer a melted fuse box due to excess current draw fucking the switch...

Or the relay is sticking.....

I rewired mine as the original ford is a bit unreliable, i done it without a relay, the neg of the fan straight to earth and the pos through the switch to a fuse holder (30A) and then straight to the batt, simple and straight forward and more reliable and its been like that for years and never caused a problem (except once when the fuse holder burnt out but thats only because i used one that was too small ) but its fine now
