Bedford Track People.. now with MY VIDS .....
what sort of lap times were you getting?
in the morning i only got 2 sessions as i split my exhaust but looking on my cam i was getting 3mins average
in the afternoon session's i was 2:15'ish (on the lap i have played back so far)
ALSO
what speed was people getting through the chicane at the end of the back straight, was able to get through there on average at about 90
not sure i want to try and get through any fast
and my speedo was show 125-130 on the back straight
thats 7000 in 5th which is 122 which my calculations of gearbox and revs

Back straight was hitting 150mph which is GPS approved had room for more but the bias set up on my brakes was scary. I was braking before any of the white board markers
That second track in the afternoon was AWESOME!
You were going well mate I was in my mates Mr2 and we were going through that chicane at 90 too. I think that marshall had the best spot on track there.

Saw 125mph on the clock up the back straight and was hitting the chicane at about 80ish.
I don't think it went too badly considering what I was using. I was far from fast but was also pleasantly surprised at passing a few things as well

150mph on the back straight!!! that is MENTALLY fast, especially for stuff like RS turbos!!
my M3 would hit maybe 135 tops and that was a fast car!
spiky, i would tend to hit about 130ish then stamp on the brakes and take the chicane at about 90 in the M3

It seemed like most people all but stopped at the bends there were definatley more straight line drivers there than track drivers. There was an a3 tdi going round very well though! anyone off here?

I was seeing about 150 on the back straight in the Audi.
It really needs some decent tyres for on the track as its handling and braking ability just kill the road tyres to a point where you have very little grip! Would love it with some triple 8's on.
Its just a great all rounder. Tow the track car to the track, fill the boot with track stuff and food, do some laps and annoy lots of people then pack up, hitch the trailer back on and drive home. No Stress!

i think 152 was about my fastest down the back straight, 2.11 was my fastest lap in the afternoon and the next lap my brakes had massive fade so i think some hotter pads are needed
EDIT: not sure my fastest was 2.11 now as i cannot find it, have a 2.15 so we will call it that for now

Me and my brother were in the white 16v clio. It was our first time at Bedford but we both had a really good day and thought the track was awesome, hope we didn't hold too many people up!
Also, thanks to Spiky for taking me out in the afternoon for some passenger laps - I was genuinely amazed at how well it stuck to the track, especially bearing in mind how quickly you were pedalling... good work!

had I think 130 in lee's westy and about 140 in the astra. both cars had at least 10mph more in them though as I was braking early due to them not being my cars.
astra was quickest thing in a straight line that I went in but the westy was very satisfying through the bends. stu has done an awesome job bolting it together it feels like a totally different car from when I first drove it.
stu's audi was very good too its deceptively quick for an estate car and just feels so planted.

When we got out he turned to Lee and said "It was different with him in the car, would only do 145mph"
Was brilliant fun all the same
Problem is, i really want one now!

But for future reference, be careful using the words 'squeezing', 'rainbum' and 'interference fit' in the same sentence

My day sadly ended very early with what started off as a missfire and ending in head gasket and no 1 filling with oil. Luckily we took a spare car and rinced the xr 4x4 rest of morning and all afternoon. Was getting 140(according to speedoand with missfire) on straight on 3 door and managed to rince 130(according to speedo on xr4x4 totaly stripped out though great fun day as always.

LOL at people going by their really "accurate" speedos as reference .
Although I "saw" 150 and 7000rpm on the Westie speedo, I think that due to the way both needles were moving around, that I'd use that as a very loose approximation of road and engine speed. You would be just as well to guess .

I personally thought it was just right for my limited experience of driving a coffin . I would have to learn how to drive it properly before I was able to deal with any more power . But then again, I'm a girl when it comes to open top cars - I like my creature comforts and feeling like the car was wanting to rip my helmet off was not much fun . Side winds also made me realise how weak my neck muscles are .
