the parent and child spaces are wider to make it posible to get babies or toddlers into the seats with the doors fairly wide open, rather than just open a tiny bit like a normal space where you can only just squeeze in and out of the car. People generally moan when a car door is opened and hits their car when trying to get a baby in a car seat, but if there are no parent and child spaces left because selfish twats have parked in them just so they are a bit nearer, then it sometimes happens.
Also, they are nearer the entrance to make it safer than pushing a pushchair and/ or holding a toddler while potentially puching a trolley aswell as maybe holding an umbrella or all of these at the same time the whole length of a car park. It's not that they can't walk far, it's that a car park is a dangerous place for a toddler to be, and the sooner they are in the car the better.

I think parking on pavement is illegal except in certain circumstances so they can get a ticket for it.

Erm where do you think i got the photos from then??

I dont see why parent and child spaces need to be close to the store. Most car parks have pedestrian walkways. I do think they ARE needed if only to prevent innocent peoples cars being damaged when the little shits in the back kick the door open wide!! Saves a lot of door dents.

Put the parent and child spaces furthest from the doors then the supermarket can get on its moral high ground saying its helping childs health by making them walk more and get more exercise

** Must be read in the same voice as the A-Team Introduction **

In 2007, a commando was discharged from the military for a medical reason unknown to me.

This man promptly walked to his local supermarket in the Stoke on Trent underground.

Today, still rubbered by the government, he survives as a freelance parking attendant.

If you see a car parked illegally, if no one else gives a shit, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire... Warren Penalver.

it should be:

Sully: Me and Henriques is in the service, too. Nothing like old war buddies. Well, have a nice trip, now. Take care. Oh, here <slips him some money> Have some beers in Val Verde. It'll give everyone more time with your daughter.

Matrix: You're a funny guy, Sully. I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last.

<cut to next few scenes>

Matrix: Where is she?

Sully: Kiss my ass.

Matrix: I can't hear you!

Sully: I'll say it louder: Get fucked.

Matrix: Your loyalty is very touching, but it's not the most important thing in your life right now. But what is important <Matrix dangles Sully off the edge of a big mountain> is gravity. I have to remind you, Sully, this is my weak arm.

Sully: You can't kill me. You need me to find your daughter. Cook knows. I'll take you where I meet him.

Matrix: No, you won't.

Sully: Why not?

Matrix: Because I already know. Remember Sully when I promised to kill you last?

Sully: That's right, Matrix. You did!

Matrix: I lied.

Sully: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

<gets the porche up the right way>

Cindy: What did you do with Sully?

Matrix: I let him go.

you see, if you want to get it right, get it right (but it's been a few weeks since i saw the film so some of the words might be a lttle wrong, but not many )

No worrries. I'll park my car next to your car and twat my door open into yours as I get my kids out. Hope you don't mind!!

The parent spaces are wider for a reason, a pretty obvious reason.

What he said.

And also about being closer to the door - when you are carrying a kid that is too young to walk until you can put it in a trolley, the closer the better.

Stop trying to justify being a lazy cunt.

if there are no spaces for the kids, i park across 2 bays, although when i used to drive a bus, i would park across 7 bays in macdonalds drive through but that's another story

thats just car snobbery though, nothing to do with having kids. If you dont have the regulation MPV/4 door heap of shite then you dont "fit in" with that class. Just the same as the BMW/merc drivers doing 60mph who get upset when a rusty old ford overtakes them at 70!!!

Now why is that?? I have security qualifications and 10 years of working in the security field personal opinions are irrelevant for such a job.

for the person who asked y it is a good idea for children to be closer to the store , REALLY does that need askin ?

i have 3 children n they all know to stay with me n not run off so its got fuck all to do with havin control over our children but the fact is reducin the risk of kids gettin knocked down by sum idiot who doesnt have the brain cell to realise u dont have a lead foot in a car park,

so prevention is better than tidyin up after this shit happens ,

when u have children u will realise wot im talkin about !!

rab , if people who park 1/2 on the pavement have double drives , surely u have a whole driveway to use to get past the car on the pavement , just the way i read it m8 , i may have missed summit
